More than 400 new affordable homes being developed in Salford will be managed and maintained by Pendleton Together.

Pendleton Together, part of the Together Housing Group, already manages just over 1,000 properties in the city, many of them on behalf of Salford City Council. Having been successful in a thorough Salford City Council tender process for managing properties owned by Dérive Salford, the social housing landlord has taken on just under 200 homes, with another 200 in the pipeline.

The homes, which include two-, three- and four-bedroomed houses and apartments, many built to a high environmental standard, are owned and are being developed by Dérive, a development company wholly owned by Salford City Council.

The developments, including sites at Little Hulton, Weaste and Charlestown, are part of the largest council housing scheme in Salford for 50 years. While just under 200 homes are already occupied, another 50 are expected to be ready before Christmas and a further 150 later in 2024/25.

Julie Blagden, Senior Operations Manager at Pendleton Together, said: “Pendleton Together has been managing properties in Salford for ten years and is a trusted social landlord, managing properties that more than 1.5k Salfordians call home.

“We’re passionate about the future of Salford so it’s exciting to be at the heart of the work and we’re delighted Derive have put their trust in us to manage their properties going forward.”

Deputy Mayor of Salford, Councillor Tracy Kelly, who is also a Director at Dérive, said: “Having quality homes that are fit for the future is priority in Salford and Dérive are developing them to the highest environmental standards. Development and management of properties go hand-in-hand, so I’m delighted to partner with Pendleton Together again to deliver this important service.”

Homes will be offered to people in housing need through Salford Home Search using the city’s agreed allocations policy.
